Marijuana Eradication in the Post 2 District

Date of News Release: 07/19/2010

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On Wednesday, July 14, 2010, troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville along with support from the KSP Aircraft Section conducted marijuana eradication in the Post 2 District. A total of 202 marijuana plants were located in Muhlenberg County. The marijuana plants were transported to Post 2 where they were destroyed. The total, estimated value of the destroyed plants is $404,000. At the present time, no arrests have been made. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.

The Kentucky State Police will continue their marijuana eradication efforts throughout the summer. To anonymously report any type of suspected illegal drug activity, citizens can call the KSP toll-free drug tip hotline, 1-800-DOPE-TIP (1-800-367-3847). The hotline is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You may also contact Post 2 direct at 1-270-676-3313 or toll-free at 1-800-222-5555 (in the state of Kentucky only, does not work out of state). Callers may remain anonymous.
