Injury Collision Involving a State Trooper

Date of News Release: 02/28/2010

(Mayfield, Ky.) -- Trooper Brian Duvall was traveling east on KY 80, approaching the intersection of US 641. As he entered the intersection, a westbound vehicle operated by Mr. Cansler, made a left turn into Trooper Duvall's path. Trooper Duvall's vehicle struck Mr. Cansler's vehicle in the passenger side door, causing it to overturn onto its driver's side and come to final rest. Both Trooper Duvall and Mr. Cansler, along with a passenger, Anna Flood, were transported to Murray Calloway Hospital were they were treated for neck/back pain and released. The Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Calloway County Fire Rescue, Murray Calloway EMS and the Calloway County Sheriff's Department. Sergeant Ryan Dawson of the Kentucky State Police is in charge of the investigation.
