Pursuit and Arrest in Marshall County
Date of News Release: 02/22/2010
(Calvert City, Ky.) -- A high speed pursuit in Marshall County on Sunday led to the arrest of a Paducah man. At approximately 5:00 PM on Sunday, Lieutenant Brent White with the Kentucky State Police observed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed on US 62 in Possum Trot. Radar confirmation showed that the motorcycle was traveling 72 miles per hour in a 55 zone. Upon Lt. White activating his emergency equipment, the violator accelerated to over 100 miles per hour traveling east toward Calvert City. Upon entering the city limits of Calvert City, the violator ran a stop light at the intersection of KY 95 and US 62. The pursuit was terminated at that time for public safety reasons.
After a short time patrolling Calvert City, Lt. White with the assistance of Officer Robert West of the Calvert City Police Department, located the violator on 5th Street, without further incident. Lt. White confirmed that the motorcycle was the same which had fled from him earlier. Charles Bundren, 22 of Paducah, was charged with speeding, reckless driving, fleeing and evading police, and failure to notify DOT of address change. Bundren was lodged in the Marshall County Jail. KSP was assisted by the Calvert City Police Department.
