Post 15 Monthly Activity for February, 2010

(Monroe County, Ky.) -- During the month of February, 2010, there were 39 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were two fatalities during the month of February:

FIELDS, WILLIAM; Age 45, of Greensburg, Kentucky, was killed in Taylor Co. on 02/15/2010.
RODRIGUEZ, JOSE; Age 30, of Lebanon, Kentucky, was killed in Marion Co. on 02/15/2010.

This brings our yearly fatality count to 3 compared with 9 through this same period in 2009.

State wide fatality count stands at 92 compared with 117 through this same period in 2009.

During the month of February, 2010, there were 797 citations written, 164 courtesy notices written, 827 vehicles inspected, 674 complaints answered, 87 motorists assisted, 78 criminal cases opened and 216 criminal arrests made.
