3 Arrested on Manslaughter Charges

Date of News Release: 02/17/2010

Edmonton, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of 39-year-old James Moore of Edmonton. Post 15 received the call from the Metcalfe County dispatch on Tuesday, February 16th at 3:11 CST. Glasgow 911 Center had received a call from someone who stated that there was a body in the residence at 110 High Street in Edmonton. Glasgow then contacted Metcalfe County dispatch to inform them of the complaint. At 2:53 CST, Police, Fire and EMS personnel were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival they found the body of James Moore; Coroner Larry Wilson requested KSP respond.

The subsequent investigation revealed that James Moore had been involved in a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation that investigators believed led to his death. On Tuesday evening at 11:15 PM and 11:30 PM CST 20-year-old Nathaniel Fears and 20-year-old Alex Cassady, both of Edmonton, were charged with Complicity to Manslaughter. This morning at 12:26 AM CST, 25-year-old Nicholas Hill was arrested and charged with Manslaughter 1st degree. All three men were lodged in the Barren County Jail.

An autopsy was performed today at the State Medical Examiner's office in Louisville. The preliminary results indicate that James Moore died of multiple injuries from an assault. Detective Mike Dubree is investigating and was assisted by the Edmonton Police Department, Metcalfe County Fire and EMS and Sheriff Rondal Shirley.
