January Activity Report for Post 15

Date of News Release: 02/02/2010

(Columbia, Ky.) -- During the month of January, 2009, there were 41 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There was one fatality during the month of January:

JONES, TAMELA; age 49, of Greensburg, Kentucky, was killed in Green Co. on 01/05/2010.

This brings our yearly fatality count to 1 compared with 5 through this same period in 2009.

State wide fatality count stands at 55 compared with 57 through this same period in 2009.

During the month of January, 2010, there were 708 citations written, 230 courtesy notices written, 990 vehicles inspected, 764 complaints answered, 138 motorists assisted, 72 criminal cases opened and 130 criminal arrests made.
