News Release

Death Investigation Greenup County

Date of News Release: 03/09/2010

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland is continuing their investigation into the fire that occurred on 03-05-09 on Killen Hollow in Greenup County. Kentucky State Police Arson Investigator Rodney Carroll has determined the cause of the fire as arson. KSP Detectives have further determined there was criminal activity in the case and is treating the case as a homicide.

The remains discovered from inside the dwelling have not been identified. The Kentucky State Police is using DNA testing to make a positive identification. Kentucky State Police Detectives do have a suspect in this case. No further details are available about the identity of the suspect but Kentucky State Police further indicates there is no cause for alarm for any Greenup County residents.

Detectives Rodney Carroll and Erik Kouns are the lead investigators.
