One Injured in a Two-Vehicle Collision on I-64

(Ashland, Ky.) -- On February 15th 2009 at 1247 hours the Kentucky State Police in Ashland received a report of a two vehicle collision at the 155 mile marker on I-64 in Carter County. Trooper Brad Wiley U/954, Officer Dales U/4156 with CVE, Carter County EMS, and the Olive Hill Police Department were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival Trooper Wiley U/954 conducted an investigation of the collision. Unit 1, being operated by Mark Abdallah of Virginia, attempted to pass a semi truck and pulled into the path of unit 2 (a salt truck). Unit 2, was operated by Jessie Barber of Olive Hill, Ky. The operator of unit 1, Mark Abdallah was transported to St. Claire Hospital and then to UK Medical Center in Lexington. There were no passengers in either unit. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Brad Wiley, U/954.
