One Killed in a Single Vehicle Collision on Bego Lane

(Ashland, Ky.) -- On February 11, 2010 at approximately 1036 hours, Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland received a missing persons complaint at 131 Bego Lane in Olive Hill, KY. Tpr. Jason Partin, Unit 597 responded to this location in reference the complaint. Family was reporting that Brian K. Blankenship (44 years of age) had been missing since late evening on February 10, 2010. At around 1226 hours on the same date Kentucky State Police Ashland received a call of a vehicle overturned in a creek on Bego Lane in Olive Hill, KY not far from the residence. Tpr. Partin responded to the scene and discovered a 1993 Chevrolet Lumina overturned in a creek bed. The vehicle Unit 1 driven by Brian K. Blankenship had ran off the roadway at the edge of a bridge, went over an embankment, overturned and came to final rest on its top. Brian K. Blakenship died as a result of the accident. The incident is currently under investigation by Tpr. Jason Partin, Unit 597.
