Russell Independent School Teacher Charged With Inappropriate Relationship With Student

(Ashland, Ky.) -- On December the 6th 2009 the Kentucky State Police Post 14 in Ashland began an investigation into an inappropriate relationship between a teacher and student in the Russell Independent School System. Beginning in March 2009 Jason Chapman, a teacher within the Russell Independent School System, entered into an inappropriate relationship with a juvenile student. During the course of the investigation Tpr. C. Carter obtained an arrest warrant for (1) count of Unlawful Transaction of a Minor 1st Degree. On January 12th 2010 Mr. Chapman was arrested at the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport by Airport authorities and was lodged in the Boone County Detention Center. Additional charges will be presented to the Grand Jury for possible prosecution. This investigation is currently ongoing by Tpr. C. Carter U/701
