Anderson County Death Investigation

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- The Kentucky State Police Frankfort Post is conducting a death investigation in the 1200 block of Denny Drive in Lawrenceburg, KY. At 6:19 AM the Lawrenceburg dispatch received a 911 call from the residence. Two Anderson County Sherriff's Deputies and the Anderson County EMS arrived and found Richard Shamas, age 53, of Lawrenceburg, KY. The Anderson County Sherriff's Office then called KSP Post 12 Frankfort to investigate.
On July 7, 2010 Investigators spent 11 hours on scene and was assisted by the Anderson County Coroners Office, Kentucky State Police Crime Lab and the Anderson County Sherriff's Office. On July 8, 2010 the State Medical Examiner's Office conducted their initial medical investigation. The Kentucky State Police preliminary investigation has revealed that there was no suspected foul play. The Kentucky State Police are waiting on final autopsy report and toxicology results. The death investigation remains open.
