Sixteen Year Old Juvenile Charged with Abusing a Three Year Old

Date of News Release: 02/11/2010

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- The Kentucky State Police in Frankfort received a child abuse complaint on Tuesday February 9th 2010. The victim's family brought their three year child to Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville. The child had sustained multiple injuries that were consistent with child abuse. The child was transferred to the Kosair Children Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Investigation by Post 12 detectives has resulted in a 16 year old juvenile being taken into custody. The juvenile has been initially charged with Sodomy 1st Degree (victim less than 12 year old) three counts, Sexual Abuse 1st Degree (victim less than 12 year old) three counts and Assault 4th (child Abuse). The juvenile has been lodged in a juvenile facility.
