"Click It or Ticket" Campaign Activity for Post 11, London

(London, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police, Post 11, London, which serves the following counties: Clay, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne and Whitley, participated in the two week national "Click It or Ticket" campaign which was conducted from May 24 to June 6, 2010.

During the campaign KSP Post 11 conducted 99 traffic safety checkpoints in the seven counties and issued a total of 3,889 citations (tickets).

The following is a break down of citations (tickets) issued:
53 for DUI violations
1,028 for Seatbelt violations
45 for Child Restraint violations
77 for Suspended Operator License violations
322 for No Insurance violations
1,279 for other traffic related violations

"I am very proud of the dedicated work performed by the troopers, detectives and supervisors of Post 11. They worked long hours of vigilant traffic safety enforcement in an effort to make our roadways as safe as possible," remarked Kentucky State Police Captain Lisa Rudzinski, Commander of the London Post. "Although the national enforcement campaign has ended, Post 11 personnel will continue our efforts to remove impaired drivers from the roadways, slow down speeders and increase safety belt usage through vigorous enforcement."

Other charges related to the campaign are:

17 fugitives were apprehended and 27 drug arrests were made.
