News Release

Death Investigation in Pulaski County

Date of News Release: 03/04/2010

(London, Ky.) -- On Thursday March 04, 2010 at 10:23 AM the Kentucky State Police Post 11, London was notified by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office of a death that occurred in Pulaski County.

The Kentucky State Police and the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office are conducting an investigation into the death of a resident of a home on Whitis Lane.

Circumstances surrounding the death are pending an Autopsy that is scheduled for tomorrow (03/05/2010) in Frankfort.

The victim in this investigation has been identified as Carol Barnett, 50, of 89 Whitis Lane, Somerset, KY. The preliminary cause of death has not been determined pending the results of an autopsy.

A second female located at the residence is continuing to be treated at the Lake Cumberland Medical Center in Somerset. Her name is being withheld due to the ongoing investigation to determine if any crime has been committed.

The Pulaski County Major Crimes Task Force is continuing the investigation into this incident to determine if foul play is involved.

KSP Detective Doug Boyd is the lead investigator into the incident and was assisted at the scene by Trooper Anthony Phillips, Trooper Chris Ison and officers from the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.
