News Release

Update to the Shooting Investigation in Rockcastle County

Date of News Release: 01/04/2010

(London, Ky.) -- On Sunday January 03, 2010 at 12:26 PM the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, London received a report of a shooting incident at a residence on Lear Lane in Rockcastle County.

KSP Detective Millard Root determined the manor of dead for the victim, Nicholas W. Williams, 63, of Mount Vernon, to be Murder and arrested Edward M. Perciful, 57,of Mount Vernon.

Mr. Perciful is charged with Murder and was lodged in the Rockcastle County Detention Center.

Detective Root is continuing the investigation and was assisted at the scene by officers from the Kentucky State Police and the Rockcastle County Coroner's Office.

Date of News Release: 01/03/2010

(London, Ky.) -- On Sunday January 03, 2010 at 12:26 PM the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, London received a report of a shooting incident at a residence on Lear Lane in Rockcastle County.

Upon arrival KSP Detective Millard Root discovered the victim, Nicholas W. Williams, 63, of Mount Vernon, in his residence deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

Details are limited at this time pending further investigation.

Detective Root is continuing the investigation and was assisted at the scene by officers from the Kentucky State Police and the Rockcastle County Coroner's Office.
