Pikeville Man Arrested On Drug Trafficking

(Pikeville, Ky.) -- On September 17, 2009 a Search Warrant was executed at the residence of Darrel Swiney age 40 of Shelby Gap, Ky. During the execution of the Search Warrant in Excess of 600 Oxycontin 80mg tablets, 164 Hydrocodone tablets, guns, $6550.00 cash, a Stolen Kawasaki Dirt Bike along with other items of evidence were seized. A Rhino ATV, a Suzuki ATV, and a Honda ATV, all identified as stolen were also seized from a nearby residence as a result of the investigation.

Mr. Swiney was arrested for Traffic related charges on the 17th of September, and arrest warrants were later executed for (5) counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st (Oxycontin), additional charges are pending, this is a continuing 4 month investigation by the KSP DE/SI East unit, KSP Post 9, KSP Post 10, KSP Canine and KSP Auto Theft units.
