Injury Collision on US 119 in Sidney, Ky

(Pikeville, Ky.) -- James Ernie Thomas of Dorton was traveling north on US 119 at Bent Mountain in a cement mixer. As he approached the intersection of US 119 and Road Fork he saw a Snyder tractor trailer driven by Roosevelt Rhodes of Huntsville, Alabama, making a U turn. The rear of the Snyder tractor trailer was still in the northbound lanes of US 119. Mr. Thomas swerved toward the shoulder to avoid a collision causing the cement mixer to overturn onto its passenger side. Mr. Thomas was transported by Wings Aeromedical to Holston Valley Hospital in Tennessee. The accident is still under investigation by Trooper Ryan Hamilton and Accident Reconstructionist Trooper Eddie Crum.
