Grant County Water Rescue on Elliston Mt. Zion Road

(Dry Ridge, Ky.) -- On Friday, October 9, 2009, at approximately 0530 hours, Kentucky State Police, Williamstown Fire Department, Dry Ridge Fire Department along with the Northern Kentucky Technical Rescue Team responded to a 911 call reference a Toyota Pickup truck that was caught in high waters on Elliston Mt. Zion Road near KY 467. The vehicle was occupied by William Upton, 29 years of age, Elizabeth Rogers, 35 years of age, and a 14 month old child, all from Dry Ridge. The vehicle was caught in high waters that forced all occupants to be relocated to the rear bed of the pickup. At approximately 0800 hours, The Northern Kentucky Technical respond team performed a successful swift water rescue after traveling approximately ¼ mile via raft to the trapped vehicle. All three were treated on scene and released at the scene. No injuries were reported.
