Death Investigation

Date of News Release: 07/31/09

(Dry Ridge, Ky.) -- At Approximately 0730HRS Paris Dispatch received multiple 911 calls of a vehicle that struck a parked vehicle and attempted to strike pedestrians on the lot of the Bourbon County Detention Center and then fled the scene. As officers were catching up to the vehicle it caught fire on us 27 between Paris and Cynthiana. When the operator was taken into custody he told officers that he had killed a woman on New Lair Road in Cynthiana, KY. Officer's from Harrison County Sheriff's Office, Cynthiana Police Department and Kentucky State Police responded to the residence and the body of Bryia Runiewicz, age 32, was discovered inside the residence. Paris Police have charged Bass Webb, Age 30, of Cynthiana with two counts of attempted murder for the incident that occurred at the Bourbon County Detention Center. A death investigation being handled by the Kentucky State Police is ongoing.
