Sex Offender Registry - Citizens Assistance
Date of News Release: 03/06/09
(Dry Ridge, Ky.) - On March 5th, 2009, Kentucky State Police Post 6 received a telephone call from a northern Kentucky resident advising of an uncomfortable conversation that transpired while with her children at a drive through restaurant. On March 4th, 2009, the caller advised that the male working the drive through made several comments regarding her young children that caused her to be alarmed and raised her suspicion. Upon returning home, the mother checked the KSP Sex Offender Registry from her home computer and identified the restaurant employee to look similar to a non-compliant sex offender.
This involvement from the concerned mother resulted in the arrest of a subject who was on the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. The offender was from Ohio and has been a non-compliant offender since November, 2008.
On March 6, 2009, KSP positively identified the employee and subsequently arrested the subject without incident at the establishment. The subject was charged with Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registry 1st offense, Class D Felony. The subject had been living in Ohio for approximately 5 months and did not notify Kentucky or Ohio of his new residence.
This subject was arrested with the assistance of a concerned citizen who took the initiative to follow-up and work in conjunction with the Kentucky State Police.
