Fatal Collision on Highway 36

Date of News Release: 09/14/2009

(Campbellsburg, Ky.) -- On Friday, September 11, 2009 at approximately 6:30 p.m. The Kentucky State Police responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 36 nine miles east of Carrollton.

A pick up truck being operated by Michael S. Anderson age 30 from Parsons, Tennessee, was traveling east on Highway 36 when his vehicle left the roadway and traveled over an embankment where it struck a tree and came to rest. Mr. Parsons, who was reportedly not wearing his seatbelt, was transported from the scene by PHI Air Medical Helicopter.

On Monday, September 14, 2009 at 3:45 a.m. the Kentucky State Police was notified that Michael Anderson was pronounced deceased at the University of Cincinnati Hospital.

Alcohol and speed are cited as contributing factors in the collision.

The collision is currently under investigation by Trooper Shane Wall with the Kentucky State Police. Assisting at the scene was the Carroll County E.M.S. the Carroll County Sheriff's Department, Ghent Fire Department, and PHI Air Medical.
