News Release

Marijuana Seizure on I-71

Date of News Release: 09/14/2009

(Campbellsburg, Ky.) -- On Monday, September 14, 2009 at approximately 2:00 p.m. the Kentucky State Police stopped a commercial tractor and trailer on I-71 in Oldham County and seized approximately 1,580 pounds of marijuana.

The seizure is the result of an ongoing highway interdiction that takes place over several counties throughout the state.

The case is currently under investigation by Trooper Rick Ellis with Kentucky State Police. Also assisting at the scene was the Oldham County Police Department K-9, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, and other members of the Kentucky State Police.

A photo opportunity and additional information will be available this evening at the Kentucky State Police Post in Campbellsburg between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
