Fatal Collision on I-71 in Gallatin County
Date of News Release: 04/17/2009
(Campbellsburg, Ky.) - On Friday, April 17, 2009 at 0241 hours Kentucky State Police Post 5 received a call from Gallatin County dispatch reporting a single vehicle accident involving a commercial vehicle in the area of the 51 mile marker on Interstate 71. Trooper Tim Moore, Unit 448 arrived on scene to find a tractor and trailer overturned in the median area of Interstate 71. Located inside the vehicle was 49 year old Robbin D. Daniels of Urbana, OH whom was pronounced deceased at the scene by Carroll County Coroner David Wilhoite. Assisting at the scene was Trooper Justin Sams, Unit 1034, Ghent Fire, Carroll County Rescue and Carroll County EMS. Seatbelts were not in use. Alcohol does not appear to be involved. Investigation is ongoing by Trooper Tim Moore with autopsy pending.
