News Release

Shooting Investigation in Owen County

Date of News Release: 01/24/2009

(Campbellsburg, KY) - On January 24th, 2009, at approx. 9:13 AM, KSP Post 5-Campbellsburg received a call in reference to a male and female that had been shot in Owenton, (Owen County), Ky. The investigation is in the preliminary stages, at this time, but it appears that the two individuals that were shot, were the only ones involved. The female, identified as Charlotte Burke Cobb, age 52, from Owenton, Ky. is deceased. The male, identified as Daniel L. Cobb, age 54, from Owenton, Ky. was transported to New Horizons Hospital, in Owenton, and later transported by medical helicopter to the University of Kentucky Hospital for life threatening injuries. KSP Detectives Steve Goodale and Jason Brown are investigating the case. KSP Sgt. Howard Rice and Troopers Dusty Corbin, Tim Vinal and Kurt Buhts are assisting them. Owen County Sheriffs Office, Owenton Police Dept, Owen County Life Squad and the Owen County Coroner Lannis Garnett also assisted. The investigation continues and updates will be forthcoming.
