One Injured in a Single Vehicle Collision on US 62

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On 11/26/09 at 4:51 PM Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown received a report of an overturned vehicle on U.S. 62 in Hardin County near the Grayson County line. Unit 1, a 2005 Toyota Corolla being operated by Harold L. Morgan, age 81 of Leitchfield, KY was traveling west when the driver stated he fell asleep. Unit 1 left the north side of the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned. A passenger in the vehicle, Mary L. Morgan, age 73 of Leitchfield, KY, sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported via Life-net air ambulance service to University of Louisville Hospital. Troopers where assisted on the scene by Hardin County EMS, White Mills Fire Department, and Elizabethtown Fire Department. Trooper Arthur Baetzel is investigating the accident.
