One Injured in a Single Vehicle Collision on I-65

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On Thursday November 26, 2009, at 04:52 a.m. Kentucky State Police responded to a report of an injury accident at the 101 mile marker on northbound I65. Unit 1, a 2004 Honda CRV, was traveling north on I65. The operator of unit 1, 25 year old Christopher Duffy of Louisville, failed to negotiate a right curve and left the roadway on the left shoulder overturning five times, and coming to final rest on the shoulder of the southbound lanes. Mr. Duffy was ejected from the vehicle and was flown by Lifenet to University of Louisville Hospital and was listed in critical condition. Speed and alcohol are suspected factors in the accident. Trooper Jon Vaughn is the investigating officer. Kentucky State Police was assisted on the scene by Hardin County EMS, Hardin County S.O., Central Hardin Fire Department, and Lifenet.
