Two Injured in a Single Vehicle Collision on I-65

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On 10/23/09 at 643 P.M. hours the Kentucky State Police responded to a single vehicle accident on the off ramp from I65 Northbound to Ky313. Unit 1, a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer, operated by William Fitts, age 81, of Elizabethtown ran off the left side shoulder of the ramp and overturned and came to final rest upright. Both the driver and passenger, Fusae Fitts, age 87, of Elizabethtown, of Unit 1 were transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries by Hardin County EMS and Bullitt County EMS. The passenger, Mrs Fitts was later airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital by Air Methods. The accident is being investigated by Trooper Brad Riley.
