Injury Collision on Deckard School Road

Date of News Release: 08/29/2009

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- At 1217 hours on 8/29/2009 Unit 1, a 1989 Buick Century, was traveling southbound on Deckard School Road and paused at the intersection of Rineyville Big Springs Road. The driver of unit 1, Debra Daily, did not see Unit 2, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, that was traveling westbound on Rineyville Big Springs Road. Unit 1 then pulled out in front of unit 2 and unit 2 could not avoid unit 1 and struck the vehicle in the left side. The driver of Unit 2, Benny Patton was not injured, but his passenger, Steven Wilson, was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of a broken right femur. Ms Daily was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of a broken left femur. The passenger in unit 1, Cindy Grumbo, was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
