News Release

Injury Collision on KY 61 & KY 1020

Date of News Release: 08/09/2009

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On August 9th, 2009, at 4:38 PM EDT, Troopers responded to an injury accident located at the intersection of KY 61 and KY 1020 in Bullitt County. Unit 1 was traveling northbound on KY 61 and was attempting to make a left turn onto KY 1020. Unit 1 driver, Leonard Hardy II (age 39 of Mt. Washington) became distracted and turned into the path of Unit 2 who was traveling southbound on KY 61. The driver of Unit 2, Gerald Johnson (age 58 of Shepherdsville) sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries. Unit 3 who was traveling behind Unit 1 stirred to the right to avoid the collision but made slight contact with Unit 1. Unit 1 driver sustained minor injuries. Accident is being investigated by Trooper Eric Hines.
