Injury Collision on I-65

Date of News Release: 07/12/2009

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On 7/12/2009 at 13:00 hrs. KSP in Elizabethtown received a report of a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 65 around the 109 mile marker north bound. Unit 1 a 2004 Lincoln Town Car operated by Kristen Hammer was traveling south on Interstate 65, crossed the median and entered the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 striking three other vehicles. Unit 2 a 1993 Ford Explorer operated by Angela Bratcher was traveling North bound in the center lane and was struck in the rear driver side. Unit 3 a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country being operated by a Sean James was traveling northbound in the center lane and was struck in the front passenger side. Unit 4 a 1997 Buick Le Sabre operated by Kenneth Barnett was traveling northbound in the right lane and struck unit 1 in the driver side. Operator of Unit 1 Kristen Hammer was transported by Bullitt County EMS to University Hospital in Louisville with class C injuries. Passenger of Unit 1 Ian Eisen was transported by Bullitt County EMS to University Hospital in Louisville with class C injuries. Operator of Unit 2 Angela Bratcher was transported by Bullitt County EMS to University Hospital in Louisville with class C injuries. Passenger of Unit 2 Toni Wise was transported by Bullitt County EMS to University Hospital in Louisville with class C injuries. Passenger of Unit 2 Kelly Bratcher was transported by Bullitt County EMS to Kosair's Hospital in Louisville with class C injuries. Operator of Unit 4 Kenneth Barnett was transported by Bullitt County EMS to University Hospital in Louisville with class C injuries. Passenger of Unit 4 Exonia Barnett was transported by Stat-flight to University Hospital in Louisville with class B injuries. Trooper Joshua Cummings is the investigating officer. Investigation is still on going.
