News Release

Injury Collision on KY 55

Date of News Release: 06/29/2009

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On Monday 06/29/2009 at approximately 10:20 am the Kentucky State Police responded to an injury accident on Ky55 limits of Bloomfield. David Wesley Adcock II, WM, 49 of Moaltrie, Ga., was running along the southbound side of Ky55 against the flow of traffic and did not notice a vehicle coming in the northbound lane. Mr. Adcock veered into the roadway in front of oncoming traffic and was struck by a pickup truck driven by David C. Mattingly, WM, 30 of Lawrenceburg, Ky. Mr. Adcock was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital by Air methods with critical injuries. The accident is being investigated by Trooper C.G. Perry of the Kentucky State Police Post in Elizabethtown. Trooper Perry was assisted at the scene by the Nelson County Sheriff's Deputies Keith Green and Roger Conder. Also assisting was Nelson County Fire and Rescue.
