Injury Collision on Bluegrass Parkway
Date of News Release: 05/13/2009
(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On May 13th at 11:58 a.m. Kentucky State Police responded to a three vehicle injury accident. Roger Murtie, Scottsville, KY in a 2004 Nissan, and Douglas Terry, Lawrenceburg, KY, in a 1998 BMW were traveling eastbound on the Bluegrass Parkway and had slowed down in the construction zone. Richard Hayes, Steubenville, OH, driving a semi tractor trailer was also eastbound and collided with the BMW which immediately burst into flames. The BMW was pushed into the Nissan SUV. Hayes was transported to HMH by Hardin County EMS where he was treated and released. Terry was flown to University Hospital by Life Net with non life threatening injuries. Murtie did not sustain any injuries. The Bluegrass Parkway was closed for cleanup and was reopened at 16:45.
