Pursuit and Arrest

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- Louisville police were on I-65 southbound in pursuit of a domestic violence suspect that may have a gun. Troopers entered the pursuit to assist and deployed stinger spikes affecting all 4 tires. The suspect continued south and rammed a KSP cruiser before stopping approx. 4 miles north of Elizabethtown. The suspect refused to get out of the vehicle but was placed under arrest. Arrested was Edgar Herrera-Diaz 21 year old male from Fairdale Ky, he was charged with assault 1st, fleeing and evading 1st, wanton endangerment 1st, resisting arrest, reckless driving, and suspended license. Tpr. Terry Whitaker and the suspect were taken to Hardin memorial Hopital where they were treated and released for their injuries. The suspect was lodged in the Hardin County jail.
