Injury Collision on KY509

Date of News Release: 04/23/2009

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) - Gam Hurst was operating a 1998 Freightliner filled with distillery slop and was traveling southbound on KY509 when for unknown reasons ran off of the right side of the roadway causing the truck to overturn and roll onto its passenger side. The driver, Gam Hurst, WM, 77 years of age of Bardstown, Ky., was trapped inside the cab of the truck and was extracted by the Jaws of Life and Stat Flighted to University of Louisville hospital with critical injuries. The accident is being investigated by Officer Scott Dennis with Ky Vehicle Enforcement.
