Fatal Collision on I-65

Date of News Release: 04/22/2009

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) - On 4/22/2009 at 09:21, Kentucky State Police responded to a fatality accident on I65 Southbound at the 106 milepost. Unit 1, a Waste Management dump truck was traveling northbound on I65, when for unknown reasons, the driver, Steven Barnes, Lebanon Junction, KY, lost control and crossed the median. Unit 2, a Toyota passenger car, occupied by Paul Waddle, Louisville, KY was parked on the right shoulder in the southbound lanes of I65. Unit 1 struck unit 2. The driver of unit 1 was transported to University Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of unit 2, Mr. Waddle, was pronounced dead by the Bullitt County Coroner's Office.
