One Killed in Vehicle Collision on I-65

Date of News Release: 11/15/2009

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- Adam Bowen age 30 of Campbellsville, Ky was traveling northbound on Interstate 65 near the 54 mile marker. Mr. Bowen's vehicle then drifted off the left shoulder of the roadway for unknown reasons. Mr. Bowen overcorrected his vehicle back to the right causing the vehicle to skid off the right shoulder and impacted earth embankment. Mr. Bowen's vehicle then overturned and ejected Mr. Bowen. Both Mr. Bowen and vehicle came to final rest in the northbound lanes. Secondary collision occurred. A northbound tractor and trailer driver by Warren Ross struck both Mr. Bowen and Mr. Bowen's vehicle. Mr. Bowen was struck again by two other northbound passenger vehicles (Robert Roper & Randall Lee). It is unknown if Mr. Bowen was deceased after the initial crash or if the impact from the tractor trailer caused death. Autopsy is pending. Investigation is continuing.
