October 2009 Activity Report

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- The Post Commander, Captain Bill Payton of the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is reporting the following activity for the month of October, 2009.

Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 1,499citations of which 441 were for speeding and 8 for no child restraint. Troopers issued 119 citations for no seatbelts. Thirty-nine people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 541 courtesy notices, investigated 101 accidents, of which 1 was fatal, and assisted 201 motorists, while inspecting 1,777 vehicles.

Detectives and Troopers investigated 1,010 complaints, and opened 65 criminal cases, and made 290 criminal arrests.

Troopers also worked 852 special details and programs in October.

In October, the nine Communications Officers at Post 3, received and placed a volume of 1,699 requests.
