1 Killed & 2 Injured in a Single Collision on I-65

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- Joyce Frances Earle was traveling northbound on I-65 in the middle lane at the 29.2 mile-marker when her vehicle began to hydroplane. Ms. Earle's vehicle then turned sideways facing northwest and traveled into the left lane, then off the left side of the roadway, striking the cement retaining wall head on. Ms. Earle's vehicle began to overturn then slid north in the emergency lane and then overturned. Ms. Earle was partially ejected through the sunroof. Ms. Earle's vehicle slid 235 ft from the point of impact with the cement barrier before coming to a final rest. Ms. Earle was pronounced deceased at the scene and the two other passengers (Wallace William Earle Jr. & Kalee Garrison) were extricated from the vehicle by mechanical means. The two passengers were transported to the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Both passengers were treated and released.
