Post 3 June 2009 Activity Report

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- The Post Commander, Captain Phil Crumpton of the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is reporting the following activity for the month of June, 2009.

Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 1,333 citations of which 469 were for speeding and 3 for no child restraint. Troopers issued 77 citations for no seatbelts. Thirty-five people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 427 courtesy notices, investigated 91 accidents, of which 4 were fatal, and assisted 198 motorists, while inspecting 2,417 vehicles.

Detectives and Troopers investigated 1,098 complaints, and opened 72 criminal cases, and made 296 criminal arrests.

Troopers also worked 703 special details and programs in June.

In June, the nine Communications Officers at Post 3, received and placed a volume 14,549 requests.
