Fatal Collision on KY 185/KY 526 in Warren County

(Bowling Green, KY) - Christy Basham was traveling southbound on KY 185 approaching the intersection of KY 526. Jerry G. Boyd was traveling north on KY 185 toward the same intersection. As Ms. Basham initiated a left turn onto KY 526, the vehicle crossed in front of Mr. Boyd's vehicle. Mr. Boyd's vehicle traveled through the intersection and its front end collided with the left front bumper of Ms. Basham's vehicle. Mr. Boyd's vehicle then exited the right shoulder, impacted with a rock wall, and crossed both the north and south lanes before coming to final rest off of the southbound shoulder. Mr. Boyd was ejected from the vehicle, and was later pronounced dead at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Ms. Basham's vehicle came to final rest on KY 185 with the front of the vehicle facing KY 526. The investigation, conducted by Trooper Matt Allen, and assisted by Trooper First Class Terry Alexander, is ongoing.
