Drug Arrest in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On Tuesday, December 22, 2009 Kentucky State Police were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint at KY 481 and KY 2171. At approximately 9:30 pm Mr. Jacob E. Hart approached the checkpoint, operating a red 1988 Toyota pickup. Trooper Anderson determined that Mr. Hart was possibly under the influence of narcotics. Through further investigation, Mr. Hart was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Units also located several prescription pills, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Hart was lodged at the Hopkins County Jail on the charges of 1) Giving Officer False Name or Address, 2) Failure to Produce Insurance Card, 3) Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Deg >2nd off (Drug Unspecified ), 4) Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Deg >2nd off (Drug Unspecified), 5) Possession of Marijuana, 6) Drug Paraphernalia 1st, 7) DUI 1st offense & 8) Execution of Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear.
