News Release

One Killed in a Single Vehicle Collision on KY 70

Date of News Release: 12/17/2009

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Henry Kelley, age 91 of Madisonville, Ky., was operating a 1993 Ford Ranger eastbound on KY 70 approximately 4 miles west of Central City. As he was rounding a curve in the roadway, he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway and traveled into a ditch. It continued through the ditch and sideswiped a vehicle (a 1996 Chevrolet S10) that was parked in a yard. Mr. Kelley's vehicle then traveled across the roadway and into another yard and ditch before striking a tree. It came to rest against a tree. Mr. Kelley was transported by ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. He was later transferred to Deaconess in Evansville, IN. On Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at approximately 8:20 p.m., Mr. Kelley succumbed to his injuries and passed.
