KSP Post 2 "Shop with a Trooper"

(Princeton, Ky.) -- On Thursday, December 10, 2009, the Kentucky State Police Professional Association District 2 conducted its 13th annual "Shop with a Trooper" program at the Wal*Mart in Princeton. Thirty (30) children and their families were treated to pizza and drinks courtesy of the Princeton Wal*Mart. After dinner, the children and their families shopped with the troopers purchasing items such as clothing, coats, shoes, and toys.

Post 2 personnel that participated in the event were Sergeant Jason Newby, Trooper Darron Holliman, Detective Lonnie Kavanaugh, Trooper Steve Oughton, Trooper Stu Recke, Trooper Derek Smith, Detective Scott Smith, Dispatch Supervisor Chris Rogers, Dispatcher Martha Clark, retired Detective Devin Brewer, and retired Dispatch Supervisor Wendy Ball.

The funds for the shopping were provided by the Kentucky State Police Professional Association District 2, Carter Equipment, Charbon Contracting, Hudson Automotive, Johnson Sales & Service, Kelly's Towing, Madisonville Auto Parts, Muffler Express, Nortonville Baptist Church, the Pennyrile Chapter KPR, and Wal*Mart.
