One Injured in a Single Vehicle Collision on US 41

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Christopher Payne, age 31 of Madisonville, KY, was operating a 2006 Chevrolet HHR northbound on US 41 when a deer entered the roadway. Mr. Payne swerved in order to avoid the deer and exited the northbound shoulder of the roadway. The front of Mr. Payne's vehicle struck a ditch. His vehicle came to rest upright facing northeast in the ditch. Mr. Payne was transported by ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. Trooper Nick Rice investigated the crash. Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
