Non Injury Crash with Road Closures in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- David Beauchamp, age 64 of Decatur, AL, was operating a 2003 Volvo tractor-trailer southbound on the Edward T. Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway. He was hauling potatoes. As Mr. Beauchamp was traveling southbound, he encountered several deer on the roadway. Mr. Beauchamp swerved to avoid the deer and entered the median losing control of the vehicle. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its driver's side in the median. Mr. Beauchamp was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Both northbound and southbound lanes had to be closed at times due to the crash. Nortonville Fire & Rescue and Mannington Fire & Rescue assisted at the scene.
