One Injured in a Two Vehicle Collision on US 41

(Madisonville, KY) -- Mr. Harold Cavanaugh was traveling southbound on US 41 towards Mannington. Mr. William Davenport III was traveling northbound on US 41. The front right tire of Mr. Cavanaugh's vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway, causing Mr. Cavanaugh to swerve back onto the roadway. Mr. Cavanaugh then overcorrected, losing control of his vehicle and crossing into the northbound lane of travel. The front bumper of Mr. Cavanaugh's vehicle then struck the left side of Mr. Davenport's vehicle, causing Mr. Davenport's vehicle to exit the northbound shoulder of the roadway. Mr. Davenports vehicle then traveled approximately 125 feet after leaving the roadway before coming to rest facing east. Following the collision, Mr. Cavanaugh's vehicle spun one-hundred and eighty degrees, leaving the northbound shoulder of the roadway, and coming to rest off the northbound shoulder facing north. Mr. Davenport III was transported to Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained as a result of the collision.
