Trooper Injured in a Collision in Hopkins County

Date of News Release: 10/02/2009

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Trooper Rice was traveling south on Stagecoach Road. Mr. David A. Huddleston was traveling east on Tucker Schoolhouse Road. Mr. Huddleston failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Tucker Schoolhouse Road and Stagecoach Road and struck Trooper Rice's cruiser on the passenger side. Mr. Huddleston was given field sobriety test at the scene and was placed under arrest for charges of Disregarding Stop Sign & DUI 2nd Offense - Aggravated. Mr. Huddleston was not injured during the accident. Mr. Huddleston was transported to and lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center. The passenger, Mr. Kyle B. McNeil, was also un-injured. Trooper Rice was transported to the Regional Medical Center by Sergeant Jason Newby and was released after being treated.
