News Release

Two Injured in a Single Vehicle Collision on US 62

Date of News Release: 09/24/2009

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Alta Geary was operating a 2000 Kia Sportage westbound on US 62 when she swerved to avoid something in the roadway. The vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway and struck a rock wall. The vehicle spun around and traveled back onto the roadway crossing both lanes of travel. It exited the left shoulder of the roadway and struck a ditch where it came to rest. Ms. Geary and her son, Danny Hansler, were transported by ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. Neither subject was using a restraint. The Nelson Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
