News Release

Methamphetamin Arrest in Todd County

Date of News Release: 09/15/2009

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On Monday, September 14, 2009 at approximately 6:00 p.m., Trooper Jay Cottrell arrived at a residence on Highland Lick Road. Several subjects fled from the yard when Trooper Cottrell arrived. Trooper Cottrell had gone to this residence in reference to an investigation involving two, stolen dogs. Trooper Cottrell located the two, stolen dogs in the front yard. Through further investigation, Trooper Cottrell located a subject, Danny R. Armstrong, in a garage next door. Upon entering the garage, Trooper Cottrell detected a strong, chemical odor. A search warrant was obtained for the garage and house. Officers located a propane tank containing anhydrous ammonia inside a cooler in the garage. Officers also located an active meth outside behind the garage. It contained several components used to manufacture methamphetamine and suspected methamphetamine. Mr. Armstrong was arrested without incident and charged with the offenses listed above. He was lodged in the Todd County Detention Center. KSP DESI West performed the cleanup of the methamphetamine lab. The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.
