News Release

Caldwell County Felony Drug Arrest

Date of News Release: 09/13/2009

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- KSP Post 2 units were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint along with the Dawson Springs Police Department on US 62 at the Caldwell / Hopkins County Line. Mr. Robert Weaver entered the checkpoint and upon contact with the vehicle Tpr. Rice detected an odor on Anhydrous Ammonia coming from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. A further search of the vehicle revealed the components required to manufacture Methamphetamine. Mr. Weaver and his passenger Mr. Casey Fain were arrested and taken to the Caldwell County Jail.

Mr. Casey Fain was charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine 2nd Offense, Knowingly Possess Anhydrous Ammonia in an Unapproved Container with the intention to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of a Meth Precursor & Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Mr. Robert Weaver was charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine 2nd Offense, Knowingly Possess Anhydrous Ammonia in an Unapproved Container with the intention to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of a Meth Precursor, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Operating on suspended Operators License, Failure to Produce Insurance Card, Obstructed Vision / Windshield, Rear License not Illuminated & No Seatbelt.
